I Choose Holiness

September 17, 2017 Speaker: Craig Malcolm Series: Daniel

Topic: Daniel Passage: Daniel 1:3–1:8

Daniel was a man of God in worldly Babylon, and Christians are always God’s people in the midst of those who do not honor and, in fact, oppose their divine King.

When God spares and even indulges the wicked for a time, He proves His servants like gold and silver; so we ought not to consider it a grievance to be thrown into the furnace of trial.

  • The world we live in
  • Daniel takes a stand
  • Why we must be holy
    1. We must be holy, because the voice of God in Scripture plainly commands it
    2. We must be holy, because this is the grand end and purpose for which Christ came into the world!
    3. We must be holy, because this is the only sound evidence that we have a saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!
    4. We must be holy, because this is the only proof that we love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.
    5. We must be holy, because this is the only sound evidence that we are true children of God
    6. We must be holy, because this is the most likely way to do good to others
    7. We must be holy, because our present comfort depends on it
    8. We must be holy, because without holiness on earth we shall never be prepared to enjoy heaven
  • Can I be holy?
